Chamonix SKI RESORT
Chamonix is France's main alpine town dating back to Victorian times..The resort is not without it's charms and is home to several stylish hotels and restaurants but if you're looking for ski in/ski out..you won't find it here.
There are several ski areas in the valley only connected by bus so be prepared to travel but once up the mountains, you can generally enjoy uncrowded pistes and long runs.
The hamlet of Les Houches is suitable for families with a more alpine feel and easier skiing. Hard core types head to the high altitude of Argentiere and the Vallee Banche.
Ideal for quick breaks due to it's close proximity to Geneva about an hour away.
