Geilo SKI RESORT

Geilo is a classic winter sports resort, with a proud history as one of Scandinavia's leading and most popular alpine destinations. Geilo is more than just a ski resort. Few winter destinations in Norway have as many accommodation options, activities and service offers as Geilo.

Geilo is located midway between Bergen and Oslo. Geilo Station is 794m above sea level, which makes Geilo pretty snow-sure. The resort centre is surrounded by a valley with ski resorts on both sides, and several family-friendly hotels close to both the ski resort and the centre. The ski resort at Geilo is very suitable for families, as there are fantastic children's areas, nice slopes consisting of chairlifts and T-hooks. Take the ski bus easily to and from the ski centre, as well as to and from the centre. At Geilo, the distances between the highlights are short - the ski resort, the accommodation, the centre and the activities are all gathered in a small radius that embraces Geilo.

Getting around Geilo is easy - one of three ski buses will take you around. Both to and from the ski area, as well as to and from the resort centre when you go shopping. The ski bus is completely free, with and without skis on!

Lots of non-skiing activites are available for you to enjoy when you're not on the slopes.
How about ice bathing and sauna, dog sledding or guided snowshoeing?

THE SKIING IN Geilo SKI RESORT

The centre of Geilo consists of a cozy pedestrian street, with many shops and cafes and is surrounded by 20 lifts and 46 alpine runs from children's areas to terrain parks and black slopes. You can use the same ski pass in all lifts. The ski bus takes you easily from one side of the valley to the other so that all slopes are easily accessible. In all base areas you will find slopes suitable for children and beginners, these are also connected to larger slopes and ski lifts. Geilo has two ski schools that help you with skiing and technique. In all base areas, you can also hire modern and newly prepared skis for all levels.

On the ski slope, it's not just skiing experiences that awaits you. Take a break and enjoy a good meal at one of the many eateries, each with its own unique concept.

Trollklubben is a “ski in – ski out” childcare, situated in a cozy log cabin at Vestlia. Trollklubben offers childcare for children 0- 8 years old. Their professional team of staff are there to give your child expert care in a fun and safe environment.

The ski season at Geilo typically runs from November to late April, depending on snow conditions.
