US Rockies
IN A NUTSHELL
While getting there is a challenge, those willing to make the trip are rewarded with a quaint mountain town coupled with world-class skiing.
Telluride SKI RESORT
But with all this spectacular skiing, let's not forget the town of Telluride and its historic buildings, quaint bakeries and local watering holes that blend with luxury hotels, exquisite cuisine, sophisticated shops and some of the finest spas in the world. There's no traffic or even a need for shuttles as everything is within walking distance, from skiing to dining to shopping. The unique transportation of a free gondola as the main source of transportation to and from Telluride and the Mountain Village makes this a ski destination like no other. Restaurants include the new Bon Vivant at the top of the Polar Queen Express, Alpino Vino European chalet near the top of Gold Hill and Mountain Village's most popular restaurant and bar, Tomboy Tavern, (formerly the Hop Garden) has been fully remodeled and is now open for business.
THE SKIING IN Telluride SKI RESORT
Stashed among the highest concentration of 13 and 14,000 foot peaks in North America, Telluride's spectacular scenery is undeniably some of the most beautiful in the Rockies. But the breathtaking views are just a part of what makes Telluride stand out among mountain destinations.
Living up to its reputation for legendary terrain, Telluride has recently opened the spectacular Revelation Bowl, Palmyra Peak and Gold Hill Stairs to go along with easy cruising from the top of the mountain and one of the most expansive learning areas in the Rockies. New for 2012, glades have been added on the Polar Queen Express and the Plunge Lift and we opened a new run on Bald Mountain.
